
In order to develop workteam leadership
and teamwork skills, the student workteam organization has 5 group divisions
that each member can join in based on his / her special interest.
The 5 divisions are: Desktop Publishing and Handbook Updating Team, Publicity
and Recruitment Team (PR), Matching and Mailing and Troubleshooter
team, Event Coordinator, and Special Project Coordinator.
Desktop
Publishing and Handbook Update Team
The Desktop Publishing and Handbook Updating
Division is responsible for updating workteam homepage, database, and handbook.
This division also works with board member in designing the LFFS newsletter.
In addition, they will create a personalized greeting webpage for birthday
people.
Publicity
and Recruitment Team
The Publicity Division and recruitment
team is responsible for designing and distributing flyers and invitations
around campus before the upcoming events to publicize the event to the
University. This division also works with board member in recruiting
new Lincoln friends.
Matching
and Mailing and Troubleshooter Team (MMTT)
The Matching & Mailing Division is
responsible for packaging, labeling, and mailing of packets that go to
new-matches (students and Lincoln friends) at the beginning of each semester.
When needed, they will prepare for other mailing materials. In addition,
this division will act as a middle person to answer questions concerning
LFFS, especially about the matching between students and "friends".
Event
Coordinators
The Activities Coordinator Division works
with board members in planning LFFS annual events. Also, the coordinators
are the primary traffic-person during the events. They need to assign
the jobs among the workteam. Possible events include:
New Students Orientations/Welcoming Parties
Cultural Events (Chinese New Year, Halloween Parties, Thanksgiving, Christmas
Celebration)
Graduation/appreciation potluck dinners
Trips to Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and the Old Market
Camping in Mahoney State Park and Indian Caves
Weekends at Branched Oak cabin
Presentations at NAFSA conferences
Fundraisers: Car Washes, Career Fair Volunteering
Leadership Conferences in Fort Collins, Colorado (Colorado State University)
River Boat Cruise
Special
Projects Coordinators
Individual chairperson of each project
shall coordinate special projects such as:

Work team fundraisers. For example:
car wash, note card sales, etc.

Social and cultural presentations.

"Day at Camp" projects
-
Activities between students and host families:
For example- small group dinners, riverboat cruise, and other special activities
for small groups.
