Cindy Gans
Cindy Gans is a senior psychology major and sociology minor that will be graduating on May 10, 2008. She has been involved with the Health and Vulnerability Laboratory for almost six months. She has been involved with the prevention of alcohol related problems on college campus. She has been accepted for the UCare grant for her project entitled “Genetic Markers, Binge Drinking, and Alcoholism Risk”. Last spring she participated in the Undergraduate Research Conference with a poster entitled “Personal Success in Young Adults is Related to Characteristics of the Individual”. Cindy has just recently joined the Legal Laboratory and is particularly interested in a current project in regards to symbolic hate symbols meant for intimidation purposes versus freedom of speech.
After graduating in May, Cindy plans on attending graduate school in Fall 2008. She is interested in Forensic Psychology, Law/Psychology, and Experimental Psychology. As far as a specific area of interest, she is keeping her options open as many levels of psychology interest her.
