Organization and Classification

Generally, all large primary source materials, including the Nat'l Reporter System, are not classified, but are shelved in alphabetical order in their respective areas in throughout the library. Monographs and topical looseleafs are classified using the Library of Congress scheme, with only a few deviations to the way LC classifies its materials (Restatements are all in KF395, all U.S. legal directories regardless of topic are in KF195, and some estate planning and ERISA materials are forced into KF6000's for our Tax Library). --- U.S. government documents organized via the SuDoc classification scheme.

Staff

There are two FTE staff in Technical Services who work with classification, including one copy cataloger, and the Head of Technical Services. It is anticipated that all tech services staff will be responsible for handling the Library's 12% selective Federal Depository Library Program materials.

Policies

This section will be developed as time and resources permit.
