Comments from Tri-M Chapter Advisors:
"Tri-M Music Honor Society can help bring music to the community at large. Through Tri-M, public events such as concerts can be organized that will help show the community the power of the arts. Activities of Tri-M chapters such as performing at local hospitals or raising funds for community projects help better the music program and expand its reach."
"Tri-M helps bring the different areas of music together in schools where they might be disjointed. Band students, orchestral students, choral students, and other musicians all come together at Tri-M meetings to share ideas and work on improving the school's music program."
"I work in a climate where sports is everything and 'bando's' are geeks. Tri-M gives accolades and a sense of belonging to kids who live for music."
"The motto of our chapter, which is one held by many of the Tri-M chapters, is to increase the attention our society gives to the arts and to help the students who are involved become more aware of our common goal: enjoy life more by giving to others through music."
"The activities these students participate in help the community as well as develop self esteem. Performing for patients in local hospitals or at senior citizen centers gives the students as large a gift to themselves as they give to the people they play or sing for."
PLEASE NOTE: Chapters please send in renewal forms in the fall so you don't miss out on any of the MENC communications.
