An actor, director, scholar and Certified Teacher of Stage Combat with the SAFD, Ian teaches a variety of classes from Scripts in Performance to Stage Combat.  Recent acting credits include Act a Lady and Vino Veritas at the Nebraska Repertory Theatre, True West for the Angels Theatre Company and A Midsummer Night's Dream as well as Macbeth for Pigeon Creek Shakespeare in Michigan.  He has directed a myriad of shows, including The Good Doctor and Bloody Poetry for the Carson School, and is looking forward to directing Twelfth Night in 2010.

His scholarship ranges from ancient Greek and Renaissance theatre to modern theories of performance.  Fight Direction credits extend from theatres in Canada all the way to the Bahamas, and he is the founder of the Lincoln Assassination Stage Combat Workshop.  Ian has a Master of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a PhD in Theatre Studies from Florida State University.
