Chapter History:
The American Cancer Society - UNL Chapter actually began through a Relay For Life event, which came to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus in the fall of 2000.
Over the next few months, a group of dedicated students worked hand in hand with the American Cancr Society to organize he first ever UNL Relay For Life, which took place on April 21, 2001.
In the fall of 2001, these students formed an organization named The American Cancer Society -- UNL Chapter. The goal of this organization is to host an array of events to promote cancer awareness - including the annual Relay For Life.
This event has grown to be one of the largest and most popular annual philanthropy events on campus! It is an all-inclusive event that draws in participants from all areas of campus life.
