Red-Winged Blackbird

The Red-Winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) prefers to nest among cattails and marshes and forages in nearby fields. The male is black with a white-edged, red band on its shoulder. the fenale is brown and white. They often form huge flocks. It is one of the most common nesters in Nebraska
