Adult Dobson Flies (Corydalus cornutus) are found near fast moving streams. The females lay eggs on rocks near streams and the hatching larvae fall into the water. The larvae may live for two or three seasons under rocks in streams feeding on other aquatic insects. They crawl out to pupate under stones and logs over the winter. The non-feeding adults emerge in the spring.
