Wilson's Phalarope

Wilson's Phalarope (Phalaropus tricolor) nests in Nebraska and is most common in the Sandhills. It can be identified by its long needle-like bill. The female is larger and more colorful than the male and it is the male who builds the nest, incubates the eggs, and cares for the young.
