Sociability is an important compontent to Alpha Gamma Sigma. After all, through socializing it is likely that you will meet many new friends and build relationships that can last a lifetime. After a busy week of tests, quizzes and papers it is always nice to relax and socialize with some friends. There are many social functions that one can attend to relax with old friends as well as new. Two of our biggest parties are Dames and Desperados (western dance party) and Hurricane (beach party). For these parties, everyone goes all out with the decorations and the costumes that go along with the theme.

Some other parties that we have are: Pre-game Husker, Halloween and Wedding parties. We also keep a Greek tradition alive with a Toga party. There are two formal's per year, a Christmas formal in December and Red Rose formal in the spring. Other activities are Date Dashes and Dinner Exchanges with different sororities.

These social activities promote member temperance, sociability, and self-reliance, which are the basic principles that AGS was built upon. Along with the Fraternity Education Program, responsibility in socializing is stressed throughout a member's college life.
