AIAS Forum Website

Great news, the forum website is up and has much more information then I've had to give you so far.

Of highlight, we are now staying the 28 Dec - Jan 01, so four nights. This does not change cost, and we still anticipate $400 a person which is a steal considering our hotel, the Hyatt Regency is a $358/night hotel! I would just like to reiterate how incredibly fun this trip will be, it's been something I look forward to every year and I hope you can join us.

Why You Should Attend

    1. FORUM is the premier gathering of architecture and design students.
    2. Denver has incredible architecture and surroundings to enjoy and explore.
    3. You can earn IDP credit.
    4. You will meet students and professionals from around the world.
    5. You can attend the Architecture College + Career Expo.
    6. You can participate in the governance of the AIAS.
    7. You will learn about incredible design projects.
    8. You will stay in an amazing (and affordable) hotel in downtown Denver.
    9. You can party at the infamous Beaux Arts Ball on New Year's Eve.
    10. Because you care about your future.

Also tours will be available on the site the 22nd of September and signup for those will start then.

Grassroots, Exec Meeting and our Plans

At a very successful meeting tonight, the Exec Board members that went to the Grassroots Leadership conference (July 17-20th) in Washington DC recapped what was learned and brought forth new and exciting ideas.

Freedom by Design also had a conference of it's own in conjunction with AIAS Grassroots. FBD Director, Chris Smith, attended and learned much on how to improve our program. We hope to announce some new items that will increase member activity and a reward kickback to those who help out most!

From what we discussed, we have decided that the first general meeting is Wednesday September 3rd at 4:30pm. There will be FREE pizza and we hope to sign up many new and existing members as well as recap what we learned at Grassroots and how it is going to change our already thriving organization here at Nebraska.

Also remember forum in Denver, and please ask questions if you have them.

AND... check us out at Big Red Welcome, we will have a booth and be giving away t-shirts and other stuff!
