The Northern California chapter of the Alumni Association consists of avid supporters of the all departments of the University. However, the department that elevates our enthusiasm is the Athletic Department. And the program that provides the glue that binds us together is the Husker football program, one of the finest and most successful college athletic programs.

What do the Huskers mean to us? When you live half a continent from Lincoln, national championship sweatshirts and Husker baseball caps provide that badge of honor that identifies us at the mall, on the street and in other public settings. There is a special joy to an exchange of a smile and a "Go Big Red" between perfect strangers. And nothing beats the knowing look of understanding of bystanders.

Nebraka Athletic Department news

-  Football - NU beings the 2000 season with a win over San Jose State 49-13

-  Volleyball - Laura Pilakowski is named the Big12 Volleyball Athlete of the Week for the first week of the season.

-  Soccer - The Husker Soccer team is ranked 5th and enjoyed an 11-0 win over Drury in early season action.
