- The official designated day for the AMC 8 is TUESDAY the week before the week of Thanksgiving.
- If the school will be closed or has an academic conflict with the designated day then it may give the exam officially the next day the school is open and back to normal class scheduling, namely, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Monday or Tuesday of the week of Thanksgiving. The principal must sign and date a statement on the certification form indicating the nature of the official school function or academic conflict.
- If neither 2 or 3 (above) applies then the school may take the exam late, unofficially, anytime through the first full week of December.
