Otaku Jinrui is a student-run organization at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, open to the general public. While everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, there are some constraints due to the nature of Otaku Jinrui's status as a student club. Only students can vote on amendments to our club constitution, and only students can run for an officer position. That said, nearly half of our anime club is comprised of non-students, and we wouldn't be the same club without them. Otaku Jinrui has never been a worse club because of the contributions of non-students, and non-students will always have a voice and an important place within our club.
Mission Statement: Otaku Jinrui aims to be a welcoming place where fans of Anime, Manga, and Japanese culture in general can gather and share their common interests. It's our hope that everyone can feel at home here, that everyone has the opportunity to meet people and make friends, and that everyone can feel good about this hobby, one that often gets little to no acceptance elsewhere. We also hope to introduce new series to club, that we might broaden the anime interests of people who may not otherwise have access to some of the series that are shown in club.
A history of Otaku Jinrui is to be added soon.
