Research and Academic Interests

Qualitative research methods, indigenous land rights and resource use, human rights and diversity, behavioral ecology, kinship and social structure, history of anthropological theory, human origins

Wayne A. Babchuk is a Lecturer/Adjunct Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and is also a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at UNL and the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He also serves as Assistant Project Coordinator for the Southeast Community College (Lincoln Campus) Initiative for Egypt (CCID Program), and as a Research Associate for the Kalahari Peoples Fund of southern Africa. He is currently involved in several diverse research tracks including the history and use of qualitative research methods across disciplines, and issues pertaining to Ju/'hoansi land rights and resource use, health, and HIV/AIDs.

Dr. Babchuk previously held the position of Program Director for the Department of Academic Conferences at the University of Nebraska where he developed a wide range of educational programs relating to human rights and diversity, international issues, K-12 Education, and community-based trainings, workshops, institutes, and symposia. Several of these efforts were recipients of local, regional, and national awards for exemplary programming.
