University of Nebraska–Lincoln
2001 Summer Field School in Archaeology
May 21 - July 13 2001
GREAT PLAINS ARCHAEOLOGY is...sweating, training your powers of observation, reading a compass, using an EDM, digging, keeping notes, hiking in beautiful country, finding and recording artifacts and features, talking to satellites, mastering photography, working with ants, drawing maps, getting dirty, having fun!
The 2001 Summer Field School in Archaeology will introduce students to basic archaeological field methods and techniques through participation in field projects throughout Nebraska. With these skills (and additional coursework), you will be equipped to work as an archaeological technician for private firms and government agencies in Nebraska and elsewhere.
To participate, you must complete an application form obtainable from:
Department of Anthropology and Geography
126 Bessey Hall
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Lincoln, NE 68588-0368
(402) 472-2411
Once accepted into the field school, you will register for 9 (nine) credit hours and attend an organizational meeting to learn about scheduling, study locations, and equipment needs.
