The following is a letter from our current House Mother, Vicky Oliphant.

Vicky Oliphant - House Mother“I began my position as Alpha Phi House Director in August l997. You may ask why anyone in their right mind would want this job. I know that there are days when I ask myself that same question. However, it is extremely rewarding, especially with the lovely young women that we have at Alpha Phi.

As hostess of the house, the house director is to be present at all functions given by the chapter. She is responsible for seeing that the members comply with the Nu Chapter house rules, supervises all employees and is responsible for the order, general atmosphere, safety and attractiveness of the chapter house. She also is to plan the meals and order the food and supplies needed to run the house.

I believe that college is the most carefree and fun time in a young woman's life. She forms new lifetime friendships and establishes herself for her career future. This period should be a training ground of positive input, both academically and socially. I am thrilled to be a part of making that happen. This is a beautiful house, and getting to know all of these wonderful young ladies is what makes being a house mom so special.

Sincerely,

Vicky Oliphant
Alpha Phi House Director
