Eisentrager•Howard Gallery

In appreciation for the generous donations by two emeriti faculty, James and Dorene Eisentrager and Dan and Barbara Howard, the Gallery of the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Nebraska– Lincoln has been renamed the Eisentrager•Howard Gallery. The new gallery was formally dedicated March 29, 2001.

The Eisentrager•Howard Gallery is located on the first floor of Richards Hall, which is on the city campus of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln at Stadium Drive and T Street. From downtown Lincoln, take 10th Street north. Stay in the right lane at the merge with the campus (the left lanes will take you to I-180) and turn right on T Street. Public parking is available in the parking garage directly west of Memorial Stadium.

Professor James Eisentrager began his career at UNL in 1961 and is one of the department’s most esteemed artist/educators. His award-winning work has been recognized through extensive and varied exhibitions. He retired from UNL in 1996.

Professor Dan Howard is widely referred to as “Nebraska’s leading award-winning artist.” Howard was chairman of the Department of Art from 1974-1983. He retired in 1996. He has exhibited extensively with art work represented in more than 350 competitive and invitational exhibitions.
