The College of Fine Arts is happy to collaborate with UNL Extension and 4-H to create opportunities for students to gain experience working with youth in their field. In 2011, one visual arts student was placed at both the Halsey and Gretna residential camps. In addition, two visual art students oversaw a week-long site-based camp in Imperial, NE. For all camps, students are solely responsible for creating and implementing a visual art component to the camps.
Each year the opportunities available for HLCFPA students vary. Currently we have multiple communities interested in week-long site-based camps, and will be seeking one student to teach these in addition to three students for the residential camps at Halsey, Gretna and Alma, NE.
