The African Student Association (ASA) at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (UNL) is a student organization that unites all African Students in UNL, and everyone interested in African culture.

ASA’s goal is to promote the awareness of cultural, social, political, and economical issues within Africa. Volunteering, forums, group of discussions, and above all, the end of year banquet are examples of means used by ASA to promote Africa.

FESTAC (Festival of African Culture) is the most famous event that holds every year. It features educational activities, African music, African dance, African cuisine, African fashion, and more.

ASA highly encourages and welcomes all students that are interested in Africa. Therefore, even non African students can be members of ASA, or participate in its events. For important membership information, please visit ASA’s Constitution.
