UNL Concrete Canoe Team

Can Concrete Float? Why yes! One activity that members of ASCE can participate in is Concrete Canoe. We start at the beginning of the year by making concrete mixes to find the right mixture of ingredients. In second semester, we begin to make the actual canoe.

At the end of the school year, we take our canoe, along with our steel bridge, to our regional conference meeting. At conference, our canoe gets judged by not only how it looks outside of the water, but how well it floats. To conclude conference, we participate in canoe races.
