Turkey Sales

Annual Speaker
The annual Fresh Nebraska Grown Turkey Sale is the club's major fundraiser each year. Starting in October, the club members advertise and call former customers to get orders. The fresh turkeys are distributed the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving .   Each year, the club hosts a nationally or internationally recognized individual to give a seminar for the department. There are plenty of opportunities during the visit for student and faculty interaction with the speaker. In recent years, Brett Stuart- US Meat Export Federation- and Larry Reynolds-NDSU Physiologist and Journal of Animal Science Editor- have been invited.

To wind down the week, those individuals interested are invited to meet for food, fun, and beverages at various local establishments or a member's house. The Sergeant-of-Arms duties include picking an acceptable location and letting the members know in a timely manner. Recommendations are welcome!   Activities vary widely from lots of cookouts to pool tournaments to hay rides. Always a good time!
