Special Education Loan Forgiveness Program
As part of the Reconciliation legislation that was enacted late in 2005, the provision allowing $17,500 in loan forgiveness for special education teachers who teach for 5 years in low income schools was made permanent.

As you know, Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver has been a champion of this provision. In an effort to ensure that relevant parties are aware of this, Mrs. Shriver has sent the attached letter to 150 national organizations, including higher education organizations, organizations of financial aid officers, disability organizations
