Dr. Nelson's research career includes the publication of over 90 books, book chapters, and articles which have focused on serving students with disabilities and those at risk of school failure. He has a national reputation as an effective researcher and received the 2000 Distinguished Initial Career Research Award by the Council for Exceptional Children and the Dean's Award for Excellence in Research from Arizona State University. Additionally, Dr. Nelson has a long history of disseminating his efforts and best practices to the field. He has presented at over 150 conferences and workshops. The content of his most recent publications and presentations has focused on achieving disciplined school environments that are conducive to learning including the application of functional behavioral assessment procedures. |
