Each year during July the Nebraska Deaf-Blind Summer Institute is offered. This unique learning opportunity is co-sponsored by the Nebraska Project for Children and Youth with Deaf-Blindness, Nebraska Department of Education, Special Populations, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Barkley Memorial Center.

We invite nationally recognized experts each year to focus on topics such as assessment techniques, specialized interventions, innovative resources, and techniques that can be used in school and home settings. Information is applicable to students who have deaf-blindness and those who have complex needs or multiple disabilities.

One graduate credit can be earned for participants attending the full week and completing practical assignments and an Action Plan. Students may apply for a fellowship for tuition waiver. Specific information regarding the 2007 Summer Institute is now posted.

For tuition fellowship application.

All participants must register using this form and submit it to Teresa Coonts. Questions may be directed to Teresa Coonts via e-mail or 402-595-1810. Download registration form in PDFAdobe icon format.
