Friends of Maxwell Arboretum

The President of the Friends of Maxwell addresses the crowd
at the 35th Anniversay of Maxwell Arboretum celebration.

The Friends of Maxwell Arboretum is one of two Friends Groups that support and help maintain excellence in Maxwell Arboretum.

The objective of this organization is to assist in the development and maintenance of Earl G. Maxwell Arboretum, an affiliate of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.

Founded in 1992

The committee is charged wih the responsibility to advise and assist the Campus Landscape Architect and the Director of Landscape Services in the development of the Maxwell Arboretum and in its relationships with the U. of N. Arboretum and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.

Projects

Some of the special projects that the Garden Friends have been involved with in the last year include:

• Maxwell Anniversary Celebration
• Labels for Lilacs, Hosta, Rhododendron Collections
• New Maxwell Arboretum Brochures
• Advisory group for the development of Maxwell Arboretum
