CommitteesThese committees aid the organization in meeting the needs of students. Each committee functions under the direction of the Executive Board and a co-chair (if applicable).
Projects and Programs. The responsibility of organizing all seminars, conferences and other special events sponsored by BGSA falls on the Projects and Programs Committee. Each suggestion for events (excluding those of a social nature) is developed and planned by this committee, including contact of prospective speakers, developing the program for the event and presenting the details to the general body.
Community Service. In the pursuit of academic degrees, it is very easy to become more focused on receiving than giving. It is the duty of the Community Service Committee to balance this situation. The committee is responsible for coordinating and facilitating community service activities for BGSA members.
Social. The Social Committee is responsible for nurturing the balance of academic and social activity necessary for the well being of graduate students. This committee plans social events on both small and large scales for participation of active BGSA members as well as other graduate students. These activities may include undergraduate students for purposes of recruitment.
Fundraiser. The Fundraiser Committee is responsible for strategically planning and overseeing the implementation of fundraising efforts. The committee chair and members will establish contacts with university-based and off campus funding sources. With the active support of BGSA's members, the fundraiser committee will generate funds to sponsor both small and large scale events.
