Seeking student employee for full-time (Mon-Fri) summer help (May through August) with Grain Sorghum, Sweet Sorghum, & Pearl Millet Breeding Research. Work is based at UNL East Campus Stewart Seed Lab with research plots at Lincoln and Mead field research areas. Working outdoors is required and person should not be allergic to sorghum or pearl millet pollen. Health Information Management Graduate Assistantship - CITY CAMPUS

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES This assistantship is assigned to the Health Information Management (HIM) unit of the University Health Center within the Division of Student Affairs. HIM is responsible for patient check-in, billing, and compliance. This position will assist with the daily functions of the unit. This position will provide entry-level medical office experience for students interested in health care administration. Duties include but are not limited to: posting payments and adjustments to patient and Health Center accounts; processing Explanation-of-Benefits (EOB) reports; assisting with statements; updating patient demographics; answering questions in-person and on the phone about patient account status and balance due; scheduling appointments; patient check-in and check-out; and collecting point-of-sale payments. Responsibilities include working with an electronic medical record, Microsoft Office software applications, and email. Other duties may be assigned. This assistantship pays a monthly stipend of $1,517.00. Compensation also includes tuition remission and student insurance benefits. This is a twelve month assistantship. The assistantship is scheduled to begin June 1, 2013 and end May 31, 2014. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Qualified applicants must be admitted into a UNL graduate degree program and must enroll for both the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters. Graduate assistants will also be asked to periodically work until 6 PM (Monday through Thursday) and Saturday mornings. Student Involvement Content Area: Women’s Center/Gender Related Programs Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator Hours Per Week: 12 to 15 Position Reports to: Jan Deeds, Ph.D. Work Location: 340 Nebraska Union Hourly Wage: $7.25 Basic Function: The Volunteer coordinator coordinates recruitment, training and retention of volunteers for Women’s Center programs and services. Student Involvement Responsibilities = 10% 1. Participate as an active staff member in all Student Involvement training, orientation, and staff development meetings, programs and committees. 2. Assist in the development of collaborative projects across other SI content areas whenever possible. 3. Assist in the development of collaborative projects with other campus offices/ departments/divisions as opportunities arise to help achieve the goals and mission of Student Involvement. 4. Assist students and other customers of Student Involvement as needed. Content Area Responsibilities = 90% 1. Organize and coordinate recruitment, training and retention of Women’s Center volunteers. 2. Assist other Women’s Center staff in identifying tasks appropriate to delegate to volunteers and matching volunteer interests to specific projects. 3. Maintain records of volunteer service hours and activities. 4. In conjunction with the Associate Director, plan and implement training for Women’s Center volunteers. 5. Attend Women’s Center staff meetings, and utilize information sharing/communication methods effectively including Blackboard and voicemail. 7. Assist with other programs and activities as assigned by supervisor. Special Qualifications: 1. Experience working with volunteers. 2. Good record keeping and organizing skills. 3. Attend Women’s Center staff meetings, and utilize information sharing/communication methods including Blackboard and voice mail effectively. 5. Collaborate with the other Student Involvement content areas to provide program ideas, planning experience, and coordination between content areas. 6. Initiate collaborative programming with other departments and student organizations to provide events relevant to the diverse population at UNL. 7. Assist with other programs and activities as assigned by Associate Director. Special Qualifications: 1. Previous event planning experience. 2. Good record keeping and organizing skills. 3. Undergraduate Student Worker Position - CITY CAMPUS

Position Description The Office of Graduate Studies seeks highly motivated student workers to serve as “classroom consultants” during the Institute for International Teaching Assistants, July 29-August 9. Work hours are Monday through Friday for approximately 15-20 hours per week. Duties include assisting instructors in language classes; providing constructive feedback after microteaching session; videotaping and timing microteaching sessions; and other tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Excellent organizational and communication skills. Basic knowledge of video equipment is essential. Must be team-oriented, demonstrate a professional attitude, be prompt, and reliable, and in good academic standing. Salary is $7.50 per hour, job to begin July 29. BIOS 101L (General Biology Lab course) laboratory prep workers needed for this summer and fall. Persons with an interest in biology preferred. Position includes lab room and equipment set-up, care and maintenance along with caring for laboratory display animals. Workstudy funding preferred, but non-workstudy applications will be considered.
