Student Worker / Research Technician - EAST CAMPUS

The Agronomy and Horticulture Department is looking for a responsible and dependable person to complete the following duties: * Assist with the maintaining and marketing of specialty cut flowers and commercial vegetables in the Horticulture Greenhouses and plot areas on East Campus. * Collecting and summarizing data and provide delivery of product to customers. * Watering of plants, cutting to length and weed control. * This position is classified as a temporary appointment and/or student worker. * Interest in organic production is helpful but not necessary. REQUIREMENTS: * Available to work a minimum of 20 hours a week up to 40 hours for the duration of the summer. * Be able to work during the hours of 8am- 5pm. * High Attention to detail. * Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize, and work independently. * Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally. * Employees will be expected to abide by all established safety protocols. * Valid drivers license. * Able to perform physical labor - walking, kneeling, lifting, etc. * Able to function in outdoor conditions. Computer Lab Consultant #1221- CITY CAMPUS

Handle issues in a public computing facility including helping users with software and hardware questions in a computer lab setting. Load paper and toner into printers. Troubleshoot minor hardware and software failures. Add funds to student Uniprint accounts. Check-out labtops to UNL students. Handle other lab tasks as assigned by supervisors. Undergraduates only. The Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship is seeking dependable, energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented students who have a passion for entrepreneurship, to work in our office while attending the University of Nebraska. Eligible students must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Projects will be assigned and each leader will have responsibility for outcomes. Projects include awards and scholarship contests, conferences, and business plan competitions. Duties may include, but are not limited to: writing letters to business professionals; contacting business leaders and faculty to gain their support for Center events; speaking during events to describe Center activities; helping with event arrangements such as staffing registration and exhibit booths, data entry, answering phones, photocopying, and stuffing materials for mass mailings, and other standard office work as assigned. All leaders are required to follow directions from the Director and the Associate Director, report and document their activities daily, and update their project manuals. Hours vary by project and by activities required to fulfill project needs as they occur throughout the academic year. Sophomore and Junior Undergraduate students preferred. Work Study encouraged, but not required. $7.00-$9.00/hour, 7-20 hours/week (flexible to your schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours). Telephone Interviewer - CITY CAMPUS

THE BUREAU OF SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH . . . conducts telephone interviews using a computer. We do not sell anything or ask for money. AN INTERVIEWER WITH THE BUREAU . . . is paid $8.21 per hour (paid every other Thursday) and is an on-call UNL employee, which means you do not qualify for benefits such as insurance, vacation, or sick leave, and we can not promise there will always be work available. You may work a flexible evening and weekend schedule consisting of as few as three 4-hour shifts totaling 12 hours, or may choose to work up to 30 hours per week. All Interviewers work at least four weekend shifts each month. Weekend shifts are Saturday mornings, Saturday afternoons, Sunday afternoons and Sunday evenings. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT: Should you be invited to work for the Bureau, you will be asked to participate in an orientation session of 3 to 4 hours. Assist in researching all aspects of highway design and safety along with safety performance evaluations of various roadside appurtenances, developing new and innovative design concepts and technologies in the area of highway/roadside/race track safety.
