Faculty and Staff Internship Advisors
Faculty and staff who work with students seeking internships have several different forums for information sharing. Career Services staff are glad to meet with staff individually to share information about resources, etc.

NACE Web Seminars - Faculty and staff are invited to join Career Services to participate in NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) web seminars. These seminars are geared to assist professionals in their work with college students. Feel free to bring your lunch.
Blackboard organization - individuals can sign up via their staff Blackboard account to participate in the organization. Resources, sample forms, and statistical information are available through this forum.
Brown bag discussions - held twice a year (once in the fall and spring). Contact Chris Timm for meeting notes. Next meeting will be Spring 2010.

- Volunteer opportunities in Husker Hire Link
- Career Services is also partnering with Student Involvement to use Husker Hire Link as a place for students to report and reflect upon their internships, volunteer experiences, and service-learning. The "Experiential Learning" tab allows staff or students to report the experience, students to evaluate their experience, and employers to evaluate the students
- Upcoming events include the Fall Career Fair Week (Oct 6, 7, and 8), Insights into Internships (Oct 15), Going Global (international internships Nov 17), and Donald Asher webinar-Study Abroad to Career Abroad (Nov 3). Encourage students to attend (staff are also welcome to attend).
- The meeting concluded with a webinar, Where the Jobs Are: Mission Critical Opportunities for America presented by the Partnership for Public Service. Additional resources related to federal employment are available in the Career Services Resource Center, 225 Nebraska Union. Tom Allison of the Career Services staff is a Certified Federal Job Search Trainer and Counselor and is available to assist those seeking federal employment.
