Gallery Monitor -- CITY CAMPUS

We are looking for dependable, knowledgeable students to serve as Gallery Monitors for the Eisentrager/Howard Gallery. Monitors will keep attendance records, greet visitors and answer questions about current and upcoming shows in a professional manner, and perform occasional clerical tasks as assigned. Must be outgoing and friendly. There will be some "down" time for studying. Work Study recipients preferred, but not required. The Administrative Assistant will provide office/clerical support to Volunteer/Intern Program. Essential job duties include: Assist with trainings and orientation of new volunteers and interns. Set-up, organize, and assist with volunteer groups. Document and track appropriate volunteer statistical information and other volunteer program records as required. Maintain volunteer database. Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the Volunteer and Intern Coordinator and/or Development Team. Represent Friendship Home at various community events. Assist in the development and distribution of the Volunteer Newsletter. Prepares correspondence, memos and reports from dictated or written sources. Prepare and sign thank you letters, cards and invitations for mailing. Establish a schedule with the supervisor which will meet the scheduling needs of the volunteer and intern program. (This schedule is expected to be maintained unless other arrangements are made with the supervisor.) Assist with volunteer/intern recognition celebration. Collate and stuff packets, mailings, and other materials. Organize supplies and storage areas. Prepare miscellaneous materials for special events as needed. May be asked to make telephone calls to gather and record needed information. Knowledge and skills: Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, excellent planning and organizational skills. Applicants must possess the following knowledge and skills: Ability to work independently, with little or no direct supervision. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Must be flexible and able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Previous experience demonstrating excellent word processing, organizational and time-management skills is required along with proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
