In 2010-11, 1,272 internships or co-ops by 1,014 individuals in over 600 organizations were reported to Career Services by the student, the employer, or academic department. This does not reflect interns who worked solely with a faculty member or academic department. Although Career Services has expanded outreach efforts, there are likely UNL students who participated in internships that are not recorded in this report.

WAGES

Of the internships or co-ops reporting a wage, the average was $12.11 hour ($11.60 undergraduate, $15.72 graduate). The lowest reported wage was $7.25/hour and the highest was $49.50/hour.

ACADEMIC CREDIT

Career Services does not always receive information regarding whether Academic Credit was pursued in conjunction with an internship. However, 170 internships were reported as being for academic credit for a total of 463 credit hours. Colleges and departments differ in their practices regarding academic credit. Some students pursue credit outside of their department or College.
