I am in receipt of your letter of September 8 regarding the Committee’s action on the second and final FY2011 budget reduction proposals released on April 21, 2010. I appreciate the Committee’s careful attention to these proposals and the time you and the Committee invested in this process.
I also appreciate the APC sharing additional comments and concerns regarding the merging of positions within International Affairs and within General Studies. The intent is that these actions will not only improve efficiencies, but also the overall operations and impact on our students. Please know that we will continue to monitor the ongoing progress with care to ensure these actions are in the best interest of the University long-term.
Similarly, thank you for voicing your concerns and sharing your recommendations regarding the College of Engineering/IMSE proposal. I agree that tabling the issue is proper to allow additional time for University procedures to be followed.
I accept your approved proposals and will finalize accordingly. Thank you for your efforts.
