Mission Statement

The UNL Chess Club is an organization dedicated to the promotion of knowledge and understanding of chess as an intellectual sport. Through weekly practice and game theory and analysis, the UNL Chess Club seeks to foster the development of its members as chess players and enhance their appreciation of the game. The Chess Club strives to provide a relaxed atmosphere for game understanding as well as an organized tournament venue for competitive-minded club members.

Membership

The UNL Chess Club is available to any and all University of Nebraska - Lincoln students, faculty and staff who have appropriately accounted for club dues.This organization does not discriminate in the selection of members or appointments when discrimination is defined as denying individuals membership or appointment on the basis of a person?s age, race, national origin, color, gender, sexual orientation, creed, handicap or place of residence.
