SUMMER TOUR:
(Preliminary Itinerary – subject to minor changes and adjustments)

Day 1:
Meet at Midwest U.S. city; past departure cities have been Omaha, Cedar Rapids, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Lincoln
(Kansas City, Des Moines,
and St. Louis remain possibilities).
Registration in AM and singing and brass rehearsals PM.

Day 2:
AM rehearsals or performance at large church service / Mass. Brush-up rehearsals and pack for the next day, an important travel day.

Day 3:
Bus to departure port and local international air terminal for transatlantic flight. Dinner, overnight and breakfast aboard plane with next day AM arrival.




Day 4:
Arrive in Paris, the magnificent "City of Light."
Go through customs and board
professional European buses and head for
Versailles, the chateau of which all
others were compared.
Independent lunch in the town of Versailles.

 

 

 

 

Enter the castle in groups of 30.
Explore the "Hall of Mirrors," the famous gardens,
and the most magnificent rooms in the world.

Day 5 & 6:

Mt. St-Michel is one of France's most famous
landmarks and one of the most visited.
It is a 1000-year-old abbey atop an
island that protrudes into the Channel.
It is, without any doubt, the most magical
place on earth!

The world-famous tide here enters and exits
at a most unbelievable pace:
at the speed of a galloping horse, or

Day 7 & 8:
Return to the city of Paris and enjoy
many of the most famous locations
on earth. Visit street-side cafes, the world's largest museum,
the Louvre, rite up the Eiffel Tower, explore French antiques,
shopping, souvenir hunting, and so much more.

Day 9 & 10:
Depart Paris early AM and drive southeast into the Swiss Alps. Enjoy the incredible views as we pass from the French plains into the incredible mountains that are rich in history. We will intimately end up on or near Lake Lucerne. Enjoy at day in the incredible city of Lucerne with Swiss shopping, optional excursions, paddle boat rides, and great food!




Day 11:
Drive from the breath-taking Swiss Alps into the Italian Alps. Eventually, you will encounter the Italian flatlands covered in more vineyards. Usually, we have a quick lunch stop in the fashion capitol of the world: Milan. Memorable performances at the pink-marble Milan cathedral have been a treat on recent trips.

OK, the windows at Chartres Cathedral (which have their own name of "Chartres Blue") are pretty drop-dead-gorgeous too!









Day 12:
This could be one of your most memorable days. People from all over the world have been falling in love with the Adriatic city of Venice for over a thousand years. Find out why!





Day 13:
Today we will drive from Italy to Austria. We will make a visit at the world-famous Swarovski Crystal Factory and store and stay in or near the Alpine ski resort of Innsbruck.

Day 14:
We will journey to the Classical -music capitol of the world: Salzburg, and the birthplace of Mozart. Visit is house, sing at the incredible cathedral, visit the Prince ArchBishop's castle atop the city-center mountain and so much more.

Day 15:
Today we will travel to the German Bavarian capitol Munich. A free day to explore the BMW museum, the German museum and see an authentic Messerschmidt, find a great music store, climb to the top of the city hall for a breath-taking view, explore the Olympic Village, and SO MUCH MORE!

Today, we will depart our Frankfurt-area hotel and arrive at the Frankfurt International Airport. Morning departures with arrival back at U.S. city. Clear customs, board U.S. flight for arrival on the same day at U.S. departure city.

You are clearly in for many of the most fun and wonderful times of your life. Whether you are a student-singer, a family, or a budding professional musician, the experiences are beyond words and pictures.


2008 itinerary:

JUNE 27, 2008  –  JULY 17, 2008

Day 1:  Meet AM at Lincoln hotel for rehearsals and group meetings.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 2:  Rehearsals, group meetings, and PM pre-tour concert for friends/family/community.

Day 3:  Bus to Omaha’s Eppley Airport and depart by international transatlantic flight.  Dinner and overnight on board plane.

Day 4/5/6:  After an early on-board breakfast, we arrive in Paris, and meet our tour escort and motor coaches, panoramic sightseeing tour of Paris.  You will see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Versailles, shopping, river cruise, and many more of "the City of Light's" most famous attractions and gain a bearing of the entire area.  Concert at Notre Dame, free time, and excursion and boat ride on Seine River.

Day 7&8:  Drive across the northern French coast for overnight in the historic city of Caen and perform (for Mass) in Mt. St. Michael, the most magical place on earth (see picture above) and the cemetery at Normandy Omaha Beach.  Drive to Dijon. Overnight in Dijon.

Day 9/10:  Depart by motor coach for Switzerland and a scenic drive that will take you to Lucerne, with an evening performance at the Jesuitkirchen on the incredible lake Lucerne.  On into the lake hamlet of Brunnen and an awesome background of spectacular mountain peaks. An optional return trip to Lucerne via the lake ship – or an optional trip to Mt. Pilatus via cogwheel train and teleferic.  A concert is planned tonight with the Alps as a backdrop.

Day 11:  Depart (weather permitting) for the incredible Gothard Pass route through the highest of the Swiss and Italian Alps.  Low route if weather is too cloudy.  Lunch stop in the fabulous Milan or Verona, Italy (see the flagship stores of many of the most famous design houses in the world.  Don’t forget to visit the famous city-center cathedral famous for its unique stained glass windows and intricate pink-marble exterior) or renowned Verona (see the amazing city-center coliseum and Juliet’s garden).  Overnight in city outside of Venice.

Day 12:  Day trip into Venice via boats, on the Adriatic Sea, one of the world’s most famous cities.  Performance in St. Mark’s Basilica (the most famous structure in the world for at least a millennium).

Day 13:  Drive to Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and of Classical music.  Performance in the famous cathedral.  Wander the sights of the movie “Sound of Music.”

Day 14/15: Travel into Germany’s and Bavaria’s capitol, Munich. It will offer some of the finest in real shopping and European life.  Our hotel’s location will offer freedom to explore the BMW factory, the Olympic Village and/or other sites too numerous to mention.  Munich, much of which was destroyed in WWII, has become a world-class modern city; it can easily claim to be a “most modern city of the world.”  Free day to explore and concertize.

Day 16/17:  After an AM stop at the WWII Concentration Camp in Dachau, we leave for the international city of Prague.  Explore, guided tour, concert, visit the cathedral with Czech crystal windows, the castle, the old-town, and the history city-center.

Day 18/19:  What is more romantic than medieval Rothenberg, Germany – one of the very few remaining walled cities in Europe.  Rothenberg, and its ramparts will conjure visions of what life must have been like centuries ago.  Time for independent sightseeing and shopping within the walls.  A super free day to explore the world’s largest Christmas store, rehearse and concertize in a Medieval church and walk the paths that have been walked for more than a millenium.  Off to the Rhine hamlet of Rudesheim and a visit along the Rhine with view of some of the castles nestled amongst the vineyards above the river.  Overnight on the outskirts of Frankfurt.

Day 20:  Departure for Frankfurt airport to board your transatlantic flight back home, where you will be arriving the same day, in Omaha.

2006 itinerary:

JUNE 24, 2006  –  JULY 14, 2006

Day 1:  Meet AM at Omaha hotel for rehearsals and group meetings.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 2:  Rehearsals, group meetings, and PM pre-tour concert for friends/family/community.

Day 3:  Bus to Omaha’s Eppley Airport and depart by international transatlantic flight.  Dinner and overnight on board plane.

Day 4:  After an early breakfast, we arrive in London, England, and meet our tour escort and motor coaches, panoramic sightseeing tour of London.  You will see St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and many more attractions.  Independent lunch.  PM check into Picadilly Circus area hotel.

Day 5:  Depart for Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, by way of Oxford, Warwick Castle, or Coventry.  Independent lunch.  Concert in Stratford and/or Coventry.  Optional theatre or musical performance in London’s West End.

Day 6,7&8:  Possible performance at Canterbury on the way to the channel crossing.  Drive across the northern French coast for overnight and visit to Mt. St. Michael and the cemetery at Omaha/Normandy Beach.  Proceed to Paris, the “City of Lights,” where we will arrive this evening.  Days of panoramic sightseeing and local excursions to Notre Dame, possible concert at Luxembourg Gardens, and excursion to Eiffel Tower and boat ride on Seine River.

Day 9:  Church service at Fauré’s LaMadeleine Church or Notre Dame then transfer to Versailles.

Day 10:  Depart by motorcoach for Switzerland and a scenic drive that will take us to Brunnen by the lake and an awesome background of spectacular mountain peaks.  Independent lunch in Besançon.

Day 11:  An excursion to Lucerne – or an optional trip to Mt. Pilatus via cogwheel train and teleferic.  A concert is planned tonight with the Alps as a backdrop.

Day 12:  Leave Switzerland and travel south (weather permitting) through Gothard Pass in the Swiss and Italian Alps (yes, you can run around in the snow).  On to Italy and a possible Vespers Service at one of our favorite cathedrals!!!

Day 13:  Day trip into Venice on the Adriatic Sea, one of the world’s most famous cities.  Possible performance in St. Mark’s Basilica (the most famous structure in the world for at least a millennium??) and a possible opera late this evening in the coliseum.

Day 14/15:  You will visit nearby Innsbruck (the famous Swarovski Crystal Factory) and Salzburg, two of Austria’s loveliest cities.  A concert, as well and – time permitting – a visit to “Eagle’s Nest” (Hitler’s former Alp-top retreat).   Time to enjoy a more rural atmosphere which only a village can offer and what better place than an Alpine ski resort nestled amongst beautiful mountains.  Today we will travel via the Duchy of Liechtenstein for our lunch stop in this small independent country and through Germany; then on to Kitzbuhel, Austria’s version of Aspen.

Day 16/17: AM Mass or church service performance enroute.  Germany’s and Bavaria’s Munich will offer some of the finest in real shopping and European life.  Our hotel’s location will offer freedom to explore the BMW factory, the Olympic Village and/or other sites too numerous to mention.  Munich, destroyed in WWII has become a world-class modern city, it can easily claim to be a “most modern city of the world.”

Day 18/19:  After an AM stop at the WWII Concentration Camp in Dachau, what is more romantic than medieval Rothenberg, Germany – one of the very few remaining walled cities in Europe.  Rothenberg, and its ramparts will conjure visions of what life must have been like centuries ago.  Time for independent sightseeing and shopping within the walls.  A super free day to explore the world’s largest Christmas store, rehearse and concretize in a Medieval space.

Day 20:  Early departure for a visit along the Rhine with one-hour Rhine Cruise to view some of the castles nestled amongst the vineyards above the river.  Overnight on the outskirts of Frankfurt.

Day 21:  Departure for Frankfurt airport to board your transatlantic flight back home, where you will be arriving the same day, in Omaha.

2004 itinerary

JUNE 26, 2004  –  JULY 15, 2004

Day 1: Meet afternoon at Omaha hotel for rehearsals and group meetings.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Rehearsals and group meetings.  Concert at local cathedral.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Bus to Omaha’s Eppley Airport and depart by international transatlantic flight.  Dinner and overnight on board plane.

Day 4: After an early breakfast, we arrive in London, and meet our tour escort and motor coaches.  Our panoramic sightseeing tour of London will be conducted by a European guide/escort.  Possible stops include Westmin-ster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the Globe Theatre, and many more attractions.  Indepen-dent lunch and optional West End show?  Over-night only one half block from Picadilly Circus.

Day 5: A day in London – choose between the Tower of London, the Crown Jewels, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, the London Eye (135 meter high Ferris wheel over the Thames River), or shopping at Picadilly Circus, Regent Street, and Oxford Street.  Optional West End show?

Day 6: Depart for Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, by way of Warwick Castle, or Coventry Cathedral. Check into Oxford-area hotel.Day 7,8&9: Performance at Canterbury on the way to the channel crossing.  Drive across the Belgium and French countryside with a stop in Brugge, known as the Venice of the north because of its canals.  Proceed to Paris, the City of Lights, where we will arrive early this evening.  Days of panoramic sightseeing, rehearsal and performance at Notre Dame.  Excursion to Eiffel Tower, Chartres Cathedral, Versailles, and boat ride on the Seine. 

Day 10: Depart by motorcoach for Switzerland, and a scenic drive that will take us to Brunnen/ Lucerne by the lake and an awesome background of spectacular mountain peaks.

Day 11&12: An excursion to Lucerne – or an optional trip to Mt. Pilatus via cogwheel train and teleferic.  A concert is planned with the Alps as a backdrop. Visit one of the most beautiful settings in the world, the lake city of Lugano, and drive to one of the fashion and music centers of the world, Milan, Italy, for a lunch stop and performance at Italy’s most famous cathedral. Depart for Verona and a 6pm performance in the Verona Cathedral, among the finest acoustics in Europe.

Day 13: Transfer into Venice for a day of shopping and independent sightseeing at this port city on the Adriatic Sea.  After a mid-day church service in St. Mark’s Basilica, we’ll return to Verona, site of the famous open-air opera in the 20,000-seat coliseum.

Day 14&15: Time to enjoy a more rural atmosphere which only a village can offer and what better place than an Alpine ski resort nestled amongst beautiful mountains.  Today we will travel via the autobahn for our lunch stop near Innsbruck and the incredible Swarovski Crystal Factory; then on to Kitzbuhel, Austria’s version of Aspen and visit nearby Berchtesgaden, one of Austria’s loveliest cities as well as – time permitting – a visit to “Eagle’s Nest” (Hitler’s former Alp-top retreat).

Day 16: Depart for Salzburg, with a Sunday Mass performance at Mozart’s cathedral.  PM drive into Munich, home of many important German events as well as the capital of Bavaria.

Day 17: Complimentary breakfast at the hotel, arise at your leisure, tour Munich and vicinity.
Independent walk to city center.  Choose between the German Museum, Marienplatz, Old Pinakothek and real, normal European shopping…performance at the Frauenkirche.

Day 18: Visit and short performance at Dachau, WWII Concentration Camp (now museum).  Trek along the Romantic Road (old Roman commerce path) to medieval Rothenberg – one of the very few remaining walled cities in Europe.  Rothenberg, and its ramparts will conjure visions of what life must have been like centuries ago.  Independent sightseeing and shopping within the walls.  Final rehearsal and performance/recording session at St. Jacob’s Church.

Day 19: Departure for Frankfurt to board your transatlantic flight back home, where you will be arriving in Omaha on the same day.
