University Women's Chorale
directed by Dr. Rhonda V. Fuelberth
MUDC 246 / 446 (Degree Credit)
class time: MWF 2:30-3:20pm, Westbrook Music Building
The
University Chorale is one of many active choral ensembles
on Lincoln's City Campus. Membership in those ensembles
comprises freshmen through graduate students from all walks
of academic life. Although some members of the University
Chorale are graduate students and music majors in the UNL
School of Music, the Chorale, in particular, includes a
large number of students from other disciplines. The Chorale
rehearses three days a week, fifty minutes each for a total
of 150 minutes per week. Their repertoire runs the gamut
from plainsong to contemporary and occasionally includes
some pop literature. They frequently join the
Varsity Men's Chorus and other UNL choirs for larger massed
choral events and major choral-orchestral works.

|
They have premiered works
of faculty composers including the work of Randall Snyder
and Robert Beadell and have performed major works with
orchestra in cooperation with Lincoln church music programs
and the Lincoln Symphony. They have performed at national
conference of MENC (Salt Lake City), the Nebraska
Music Educators Association, for the North Central ACDA,
and at Nebraska Choral Directors State Conventions as well
as touring both in Nebraska and surrounding states.
Auditions: There
are no formal auditions for this ensemble. Register for the
class and/or attend the first rehearsal of the semester. Your
professor will guide you through necessary voice placement. |
