Dr.
Rhonda J. Fuelberth
Dr. Fuelberth is an
Associate Professor of secondary choral music education
at the University of Nebraska School of Music where
her teaching opportunities include Choral Music
Methods, Music for the Exceptional Child and University
Chorale. She earned her bachelor's degree in music
education from Wayne State College in Nebraska,
her master's degree in vocal performance from the
University of Nebraska - Lincoln, and her Ph. D.
in music education from the University of Missouri
-Kansas City, Conservatory of Music.
As a public school
music teacher in the Omaha, Nebraska area she taught
vocal/choral music at all levels, elementary through
high school. Throughout her professional life, Dr. Fuelberth
received a number of honors and awards. While at the
University of Missouri - Kansas City, she received a
music education research fellowship, a Chancellor's
Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Fellowship, and a Distinguished
Dissertation Fellowship. She also received an award
for outstanding teaching. Dr. Fuelberth served as a
research assistant at UMKC and as an instructor of courses
in music education and music technology. |
Dr.
Fuelberth's research interests include singer response
to conducting gesture, teacher training, and
music education for special populations.She
has presented and published research at the
state, regional, and national levels of the
Music Educators National Conference and the American
Music Therapy Association. In addition, she
has conducted her UNL ensembles on state, regional,
and national MENC conventions as well.
Rhonda is the current
President of the Nebraska Choral Directors Association
and recently was one of two running for President
of the North Central ACDA.
