Description of Material Being Covered (Sec. 501):   A reading and discussion of the major stories of the ancient Greeks and Romans, in epic and dramatic forms, including Homer, Hesiod, Sophocles, Euripides, Vergil, Ovid, and Seneca as sources.

Method of Instruction (Sec. 501)
- Lecture and discussion, coupled with quizzes and papers (vide infra)

Number and Types of Assignments (Sec. 501):  
1 - Several quizzes on the readings and lecture, at least one for each book
2 - 3-5 short papers, 3-5 pages long
3 - Regular reading assignments
Examination Policies and Grading Information (Sec. 501)
2-3 exams (last one being the final!), chiefly objective; at least seven (7) quizzes.
The grade will be approximately - Quizzes = 25%; Papers = 25%; Exams = 40%; Discussion = 10% for a total of 100%.
