Description of Material Being Covered (Sec. 501) A reading and discussion of the major stories of the ancient Greeks and Romans, in epic and dramatic forms, including Homer, Hesiod, Sophocles, Euripides, Vergil, Ovid, and Seneca as sources.

2 - 3-5 short papers, 3-5 pages long

Examination Policies and Grading Information (Sec. 501)
2-3 exams (last one being the final!), chiefly objective; at least seven (7) quizzes.
The grade will be approximately - Quizzes = 25%; Papers = 25%; Exams = 40%; Discussion = 10% for a total of 100%.

Description of Material Being Covered:   Some of the greatest works of Greek literature are read in English translations as an introduction to the world of classical Greece.
