Welcome to the UNO School of Criminology and Criminal Justice - Lincoln Program

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is a nationally recognized leader in criminal justice education and research. Faculty research includes attention to the major components of the criminal justice system, as well as the study of criminal behavior and law. The academic backgrounds of the faculty are multidisciplinary and include sociology, psychology, public administration, history, political science, urban studies, as well as criminal justice and criminology.

The program is administered by the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and the School offers the complete undergraduate degree on both the Omaha and Lincoln campuses of the University of Nebraska. The School also offers Master of Science and Master of Arts degrees, as well as a Ph.D. degree.

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is pleased to announce that Dr. Emily Wright and Dr. Ben Steiner will be joining the faculty in August 2012. Both completed their PhDs in criminal justice at the University of Cinncinati. Welcome, Dr. Wright and Dr. Steiner!

Criminology and Criminal Justice Welcomes Dr. Ryan Spohn

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is pleased to announce that Dr. Ryan Spohn has been named Director of the Consortium for Crime and Justice Research (CCJR). As CCJR Director, Dr. Spohn will take steps to expand the School's research capacity through collaborative partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies. CCJR will flourish with Dr. Spohn at the helm given his experience in both academic and applied research settings at Kansas State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

ON-LINE OPTIONS

In addition to traditional classes, the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice offers several courses on-line. Students may supplement their regular semester classes with a few on-line courses or could complete the entire minor on-line. Courses offered include:
