Advising in Division of General Studies
At least one fifth of each entering class of students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is still deciding a college or major. These students enroll in the Division of General Studies (DGS), where professional advisers help them choose courses that keep them on the right track for the different majors and colleges they may be considering. During the time that students are exploring majors, DGS advisers will encourage the deciding student to enroll in exploratory courses while completing the all-university ACE (Achievement-Centered Education) requirements.
Our office is located in Suite #33 in the Canfield Administration Building. We provide walk-in advising service Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Students may choose to make an appointment through our on-line scheduler on the MENU BAR on this page.
