The front of the Delta Upsilon-Nebraska Chapter house, located on the north-west
corner of 16th and Vine Streets on the Campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The Nebraska Chapter of Delta Upsilon is located on the northwest corner of 16th and Vine in Lincoln, Nebraska. We are proud to give you a "virtual tour" of our house. Over the period of Delta Upsilon's 108 years at the University of Nebraska, the chapter house has been located in many different places. Our current chapter house has served as a home to DUs since its construction in 1959. Since then, many additions and renovations have been made, including the addition of a top floor in 1993, and the renovation of our living room, chapter room, and dining hall courtesy of our Alumni.

We are proud to say that we live in a very nice and unique house. Filled with lots of history, our house has some very nice features. Our house has 29 Two-man rooms, 5 Three-Man Rooms, a suite for the Chapter President, and an apartment for the house parent. We have the capacity for 75 live-in members. We have 4 bathrooms, as well as a Ladies-Powder Room for our female guests. We also have a fully stocked kitchen and dining hall, a computer lab, laundry room with FREE washers and dryers, game room, and a T.V. room ("The Tube Room"). Our house also boasts a large 28 spot parking lot, as well as a courtyard (we are the only house on the UNL campus with a courtyard) complete with a very nice outdoor stereo and speaker system. In addition, the Delta Upsilon Chapter House also has Central Air/Heating, free cable TV, and RoadRunner High Speed Internet in every room.

Please look through the pictures below to take the "virtual tour" of our house and to get some more information on some specific places of interest. Also, be sure to click on the thumbnail images to view a larger picture.

   FOYER:
This is the Foyer, and the first thing that one sees as they enter the chapter house from the front door. If you go to the left, you will go to the Living room; to the Right, the Chapter room; Down the stairs, to the Dining Hall; or Straight, to one of the main hallways.
   LIVING ROOM:
Remodeled several years ago, our living room is one of the nicest rooms in the house. It is complete with several couches and love seats as well as a Piano and a fireplace. This is also the location of our current Composite Photograph. Many of our Formal events are held in this room.
   CHAPTER ROOM:
Also one of the nicest rooms in the house, the Chapter Room is something all DUs are proud to have posted on this website. Since we are non-secret, we are allowed to show you this room. Secret fraternities leave this room off limits to the eyes of those who are not initiated. We however, show it proudly! This is the room in which Executive Meetings are held, and is also our priority study place.
   GAME ROOM:
The game room is a very nice place for DUs to hang out in. We have a newly refelted Pool table, as well as a Foosball table and a Craps table. We also own a game of Chinese Horse Shoes, so there's plenty of things to keep us entertained!
   TUBE ROOM:
The "tube" room (as us DUs like to call it) was newly remodeled in the Summer of '05. Complete with a large sectional couch and a recliner, we have a Big-screen Projection TV, as well as a DVD player, VCR, and home theatre system to use for our entertainment.
   DINING HALL:
The Dining hall is where all of our meals are eaten at. In the summer of '05, our Parents Club helped to donate over 50 brand new chairs for us. The dining hall is also equipped with a Milk Dispenser as well as our cereal dispensers for breakfast. In addition, there is a closet that contains a Pepsi Machine that gives bottles of Pepsi for $0.85 each. There is also a refridgerator that contains left-overs as well as orange juice at all times. Monday night formal dinners and meetings also take place in the dining hall.
   KITCHEN:
We always have an on-staff cook to make our food here at DU. For our meal plans, we have lunch and dinner served to us hot Monday through Thursday, and Lunch Only on Friday. Friday Dinner through Dinner Sunday is on our own, but the kitchen is always open for use for cooking food and there are always left-overs from the week before. Breakfast food is also on hand at all times.
   LAUNDRY ROOM:
Our Laundry room is equipped with two washers and two dryers. The best thing about this is that all of our laundry is all FREE. We have no coin operated washers or dryers like many other greek houses have. Supply your own detergent and dryer sheets, and laundry is free!
   COURTYARD:
The courtyard is the most unique part of our house, as we are the only greek house on campus to feature one. Our courtyard is a great place to hang out as well as a great place to have privatized BBQs. All of our Recruitment BBQs are held here, as well as BBQs before home football games with our Sorority block Partner. Alumni events are also held here.
   COURTYARD:
Another view of the Courtyard. In this photo, one can see our "keg-grill" which was custom made for us. It doubles as a smoker as well as a grill. One can also see speakers hanging from the wall. Our parents club in the spring semester of '06 donated to us a Yamaha Stereo system. There are 4 all weather speakers hung in the courtyard and are wired into the living room where we have a reciever that has XM radio, a CD player, and a hook-up for an Ipod.
   HALLWAY:
This is a view of a typical hallway in the house. The house is shaped like a square around the courtyard, so upper floor has four hallways like this one, and lower hall has 3 (the fron of the house is the living room).
   COMPUTER ROOM:
Our computer room is where some of our executive officers do thier work. There is one computer for our house treasurer, and currently 3 computers with internet access that are for public use. If you do not have a computer, no need to take annoying trips to the Union or the Library to use a computer, nor do you need to borrow your roomates. We have computers with internet access and Microsoft Office, as well as a house printer for use.
   2-MAN ROOM:
This is an example of one of our two-man rooms. Each room has at least one lofted bed, as well as individual closet space. Each room also has several power outlets sufficient for all electronics and two high-speed internet ports!
   2-MAN ROOM:
Another example of a two man room. Notice that this room has been finished off with trim board as well as a nice sturdy, stationary loft. Also note the Hammock on the right. We allow members to customize thier room to thier preferences (within limits, of course). Each room in DU is unique!
   3-MAN ROOM:
An example of a three man room. Our house has 5 larger "3-man" rooms. Many times, the members who get to live in these rooms get lucky because it is possible that we only put two people in one of these rooms. Although not visible in this picture, this room fit 2 futons, 1 lofted bed, a love-seat, 2 desks, 2 TVs, a home-theatre system, a microwave, and a small refridgerator. DU's rooms are spatious and accomadating.
