 4. UAAD 2005 Oldt and Donaldson Awards Announced

The 2005 Carl A. Donaldson Award for excellence in management
has been awarded to David DeFruiter, manager of Information
Technology Services in the College of Business Administration.
The Floyd S. Oldt 2005 Award for exceptional service to the
university has been awarded to Mark Powell, Assistant Director
at Campus Recreation. Presentation of the awards was held at
the annual UAAD Founders Day Celebration on March 30, 2005.
Featured speaker at the event was Senior Vice Chancellor for
Academic Affairs, Barbara Couture.

 6. Sell Your Surplus Property on Ebay

The UNL Inventory Department, working with the College of
Business IT Services Group and the UNL Instructional Technology
Group, is providing a new approach to surplus equipment
dispersal. This new approach allows departments to sell excess
surplus property via Ebay. To qualify for the Ebay option,
sellers must first post to NUauction.unl.edu, an online listing
available to campus and state departments only. Both methods of
disposal allow departments to sell surplus property and return
proceeds directly to their respective departments.

disciplines and maintains a database of the study results. UNL

10. Campus Steam Outages 2005

The planning for the Annual Steam Outages has begun. It
is necessary to shut down the centralized steam distribution
system to conduct required maintenance of equipment including
replacing and upgrading many key components of the University's
Utility System. The outages will occur on the following dates
depending upon an average weekly high temperature of 60 degrees
or more: City Campus only from May 8th through May 14th;
East Campus only from May 15th through May 21st. We have
selected these dates due to the lower student activity on
campus. During these Steam Outages, there will be no heating
and no process steam available in those building systems served
by campus steam. In order to help us plan for these outages,
please contact the Utility Services Construction Coordinator,
Charlie Griesen, at 472-8612 or cgriesen@unlnotes.unl.edu
with any questions or concerns regarding processes requiring
steam.

11. Husker Kids / Husker Adventure Camps

LIMITED SPACES STILL AVAILABLE! The Husker Kids / Husker
Adventures Camps program is accepting registration for all new
and returning campers. Husker Kids is a recreational day camp
for youth entering 2nd-5th grades. Husker Adventures is for
youth entering 6th-8th grades and exposes middle school students
to a variety of recreational, sports, and leisure activities.
Both camps have weekly sessions June 6-August 5 and are

College of Nursing. Workload and course quality, particularly

"Backyard Farmer," the nation's longest running locally produced
series, has advice and hints for all levels of yard and garden
enthusiasts. Returning for its 52nd season, the live, hour-long
question-and-answer garden information series airs Thursdays at
