Parking and Traffic Congestion this week Students are returning to campus this week and there will be a number of modifications to traffic patterns and parking in the vicinity of the residence halls. The Office of University Housing would like to remind you that Tuesday through Sunday of this week (Aug 16-21) approximately 5500 students, many with 2 vehicles, will be coming to move into the residence halls. There will be barricades on 16th and 17th Streets, one-way traffic patterns around the Abel-Sandoz Complex, and traffic control officers stationed near the parking garage on North 14th Street. Please allow extra time for travel, and possibly consider alternate parking locations and/or travel routes for Thursday and Friday to avoid the heavy congestion in areas adjacent to the City Campus residence halls. http://www.unl.edu/housing/movein ************************************************************************* 2. Traffic advisories near Devaney Center From Aug. 25 to Sept. 7, traffic will restricted to accommodate the State Fair. The west Devaney Center access road will be closed. 14th Street will be open. Those needing access to the perimeter lots south Devaney must use the 17th Street entrance. Between Sept. 6-8, the 17th Street railroad crossing near the Devaney Center will be closed for rail repairs. Vehicles should use 14th Street. To access Devaney and surrounding parking lots, use the 14th Street State Fair Park entrance. ************************************************************************* 3. Fall 2005 Tuition and Fees Due Date The due date for Fall 2005 tuition and fees will be the second Wednesday of September (Sept. 14th), and not in October as in previous years. December 2005 graduation application deadline is Sept. 23 The deadline to apply for a December 2005 graduation degree is Friday, Sept. 23. A $25 non-refundable fee must accompany the Application For Degree form.
