New NCard application forms available online The NCard Office application forms for the NCard and NCard charge account are available at the URL below under the NCard Forms tab. As of Aug. 1, old NCard applications will no longer be honored by the NCard Office. For information, contact the NCard Office at 472-7331. Special Note: Affiliate NCard applicants needing door access will be required to pay $10 for the affiliate NCard. UNL employees can view their pay advice online Did you know university employees can view their pay advice online? Employee Self Service (ESS) provides benefit eligible employees online access to their personal data stored in SAP, the university's administrative computing system. Through the ESS website employees can view their pay advice for a select pay period. Through ESS employees have the option to discontinue receiving a printed pay advice and to just view their pay advice online and print it only when needed. Airfare Transaction Fees Reduced for United Purchases Amendments to the University's United Airline air travel services contract have resulted in cost reductions for University staff. Effective Aug. 1, the Transaction Fee on United Airline tickets purchased through a T&T representative was reduced from $20 to $10 per ticket. All United Airline tickets purchased through the T&T website will continue to have NO Transaction Fee charged. All other airline ticket purchases' Transactions Fees will remain the same - phone assisted tickets will continue to be charged $20; tickets purchased through the T&T's website will be charged $10. ************************************************************************* 4. Next tornado systems test Sept. 7 UNL joins Lincoln/Lancaster County Emergency Management in testing all tornado-warning systems on the first Wednesday of each month at approximately 10:15 a.m. The next test is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 7. "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome During Pregnancy" project seeks subjects Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a painful problem primarily resulting from the compression of the median nerve in carpal tunnel of the wrist. Research reports that 28 percent of pregnant women have CTS symptoms. We are looking for pregnant women in their 1st or 2nd trimester to participate in this study, which will help pregnant women make informed decisions about tasks and their potential impacts on CTS symptoms during pregnancy. Participants will be interviewed at the end of their 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester to answer questionnaires and have tests on maximum grip/pinch strength, nerve conduction test, etc. It will require approximately 60 minutes and subjects will be reimbursed $25 for each visit, (Maximum 3 times for total $75). This research is approved by the UNL IRB office and funded by the Department of Industrial & Management Systems Engineering. NET Television's "Statewide" Follows Tornado Recovery An F-4 tornado rolled through an area south of Lincoln in May 2004, destroying homes and businesses, including most of the town of Hallam. This week NET Television's "Statewide" follows the recovery effort, including the rebuilding of Hallam and reopening of Norris School. "Statewide" is scheduled to air Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at noon on NET1, and Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. on NET2.
