 2. Selling your Surplus on Ebay

The UNL Inventory Department, working with the College of Business IT
Services Group and the Instructional Technology Group, has been piloting a
new approach to surplus equipment dispersal. This new approach allows
departments to sell excess surplus property via Ebay. To qualify for the
Ebay option, sellers must first post to NUauction.unl.edu, an online
listing available to campus and state departments only. Both methods of
disposal would allow departments to sell surplus property and return
proceeds from these sales directly to their respective department cost
objects. The process begins by posting items to NUauction.unl.edu, which
is activated by UNL Inventory for a 2 week period. If the minimum price is
not met, departments have the option to move items to the UNL Surplus Ebay
site. Items that are not wanted elsewhere on campus, such as network
routers, may be requested for NUauction exemption, thus going straight to
the UNL Ebay site.
