 2. Volunteers need for the 2005 Science Bowl Competitions

We still need volunteers for the High School competition February 5, & the
Middle School competition February 12. Both will again be held at the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln city campus union. Volunteers are provided
with a free lunch and have the opportunity to see some of the most Science

 5. Retirement Reception to be held for P.J. Jacobs January 24

P.J. Jacobs, administrator for the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery, is
retiring after 18 years of service to the university. A reception will be
held in her honor on Monday, Jan. 24, 4-6 p.m. at the Sheldon. A gift and
book of letters will be presented to Jacobs. To be included, send unfolded
letters to Monica Babcock, Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery, 12th & R streets,

Due to a generous educational outreach grant from the Hixson-Lied
Foundation, the Lentz Center for Asian Culture is presenting two origami
workshops for children ages 7-10 on  Saturday, January 15, 2005 from 
11:00 - 1:00 and 2:00-4:00.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.
