DOE/EPSCoR Program Manager Meeting Times Available Nebraska EPSCoR is hosting a visit from Dr. Mat Varma, DOE-EPSCoR Program Manager of the Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Chemistry Team in the Materials Sciences and Engineering Division. Interested faculty can schedule a time to meet with Dr. Varma in the EPSCoR Office on Wednesday, August 3, between 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Call the EPSCoR office at 472-8946 to schedule a time. Tornado systems test to be held monthly UNL will join Lincoln/Lancaster County Emergency Management in testing all tornado-warning systems on the 1st Wednesday of each month at approximately 10:15am. New NCard application forms available on website The NCard Office application forms for the NCard and NCard charge account are available at the URL below under the NCard Forms tab. Flow Cytometry Services Free through Sept 30 The Flow Cytometry Core, a UNL shared resource provided by the Nebraska Center for Virology and the Center for Biotechnology, is offering free services for all University researchers through September 30, 2005. This is a valuable cell analysis tool which uses fluorescent probes to detect specific cell associated molecules, and allows measurements of various phenotypic, biochemical and molecular characteristics of individual cells (or particles). Specific applications include: immunophenotyping, cell cycle and DNA content analysis, protein expression. Bead based assays are available for signal transduction molecules, soluble proteins cytokines, growth factors, and DNA fragments. Cell isolation by FACS sorting is also available.
