 3. Campus Discussion on Gen Ed

After the Chancellor's State of the University Address we
initiated a campus-wide discussion board to elicit good thinking
and broad discussion about what a general education program
should accomplish. Faculty and students who log into My.UNL will
find - under "My.UNL News" - a link to that discussion board where
they'll be asked to think about what all students - regardless of
their majors - should know and be able to do when they graduate
with a bachelor's degree from UNL. An interesting discussion,
thus far mostly by students, is developing there. The General
Education Planning Team and the General Education Advisory
Committee are paying attention to the perspectives voiced there.
