13. "In the Wake of Castrophe" documentary premieres at the Ross

Student journalists explore two horrific events: an Asian island tsunami
that killed more than 35,000 and a Gulf Coast hurricane that ravaged a
unique American city. To understand these two disasters - what they had
in common and how they were different - the students traveled to Sri
Lanka and New Orleans. Throughout the yearlong experience students
questioned themselves and their role in the complex, interrelated
world they will soon inherit. The film will be shown at 7 p.m. Aug. 29
at the Ross Media Arts Center.
